News to report

The Raynox 250 was a total failure for me, not do to its quality but to my lack of patience. Getting a macro shot hand held like I am accustomed to doing was near but impossible. I decided to cut my losses and sell it to another member of the forum. It was shipped off today and he should have it by Tuesday. I decided to go in another direction which is better lighting for my flower shots, so I ordered a Bower Ring Light similar to the type used by CSI. Not an expensive flash but a defused LED ring of 12 LEDs. This light should serve the purpose very well. Accurate lighting which is well defused is important. I will report on this after I have time to test it. I hope to have it next week early.

What is going on!

Last weekend we went to my daughters home for my grandsons fourth birthday. We had a very nice time and I tried to get some decent shots of the two grandchildren, but my grandson does not like when people take his picture. Well I still managed to get one good shot of him and a few of my granddaughter.

In the beginning of last week I ordered a SanDisk 4 gb SDHC Extreme III card to use as my main card, the 8 gb PQI is a little slow, but should work out anyway. This little card came with a SanDisk MicroMate SDHC reader which works well with the Archos 504 so it will be used to backup photos while on vacation. I now have 1 SanDisk 1GB Ultra 2, 2 Transcend 2 gb 150X cards, 1 PQI 8 gb SDHC Class 6 and 1 SanDisk SDHC 4 gb Extreme III, enough for the vacation in June. I might just purchase one more for safety.

On Friday of last week I ordered a Raynox 250 Macro lens, and I am looking forward to testing it. I hope it will be here tomorrow, but who knows.

My next project will either be a flash or a carbon fiber tripod, not sure which.
